Thanks for the warm welcome Jim. I sincerely hope I can make a contribution to this blog; which as already proved to be an invaluable resource to me.
I'm a software developer residing in Northern Virginia. Most of my Mindstorm play time has been with Lejos using some of the Behavioral Control patterns outlined in Brian Bagnall's book.
I started thinking of introducing Mindstorms into a club at my son's elementary school as soon as I heard the NXT announcement back in January. The school now as 22 LME sets and the club has already met three times.
All of this is summarized in the website that is currently under development: http://restonrobotics.org.
