LPub help anywhere?

I've been working with the new LPub 3 Alpha and the newest LDGLite to (CAD) document some new NXT robots I'm building. When I select Min Camera Distance from Utilities, it it responds with "Fixme!" Does anyone know where I can go for help with this---a forum of some kind? Or, better yet, does anyone know how to fix it?

Has anyone else been working with these new versions of Lego CAD software---or do you know of something else that works well these days?

The previous version of LPub (also available on the LPub website) does not have this problem, so you might try that version instead.

You can also look into using LDView with LPub, but unfortunately I have not been able to get that to work (maybe it's just me).

The previous version did not work on any of my computers. I was having some success with LPub version 2.02 with Pov-Ray, but that takes HOURS to render and the quality isn't great. The quality I'm getting with the new LPub 3 Alpha and LDGLite is better---except for the inability to set a minimum distance.

In that case, using the Alpha release of LPub may be best for you. I'm not sure how you would resolve the minimum distance problem, however. At this point, perhaps only another LPub release with a bug fix would do the trick.

I have had a lot of problems with alpha3 (no rendering of submodels for example - after all its's an alpha!) and reverted to 2.4.20

As for min distance I always endup in the 450000 to 500000 range so setting it manually should do the trick.

Sub-models rendered for me on alpha3, but upon further use, it started doing other things---like not allowing me to switch renderers (even after uninstalling and reinstalling). Alas, 2.4.20 doesn't work for me either. It apparently tries to access memory my computer is protecting. So, for now my best option appears to be 2.0.2.

Philippe, your settings surprise me. When I use such high settings the models look microscopic. What is working for me today (that could change!) is a minimum of 1000. (From what I can find, 2.0.2 doesn't allow me to set any other distances).

I just tried again (with 2.4.20) on one of my models and computed the min camera distance, I got 477441... Maybe the meaning of this parameter was changed in the past, 2.0.2 is fairly old...

Thanks for your help. I'll keep trying...
