Hopper - Building Instructions

This is a project I've been working on lately. As its name says, it is a hopping robot moving around a room while avoiding objects.
It walks by rotating a frame, like a walker. Then, using its one foot it can turn around.
It is made from a single NXT kit. Building instructions are found here. (click)
Below is a video of the robot in action. I've also included some 3D animations of the robot.

Yes, I had seen it before, nice design. I didn't look at it when building this one though, I couldn't find it.
Stupid of me to not look in your brickshelf folder :).
Mine would not be capable of following a line, not very fast at least.
Anonymous,
Sorry, I had to, it didn't walk well with two legs. Just kidding :)

Great job mimicking my future.

David,
Not sure what you use the turntable contruction for, but it might not work well under heavy load. I haven't tested that, though. It should work fine for projects like these and maybe a bit heavier.
About the animation, youtube really downsized the quality of it. If you are interested I can send you the original file.
Chris,
Lol, you're not the first one who got that idea. In fact, it wasn't my intention to make it look like that when I built it. :)
Fay,
A snake, that is a pretty interesting idea! I've seen several ones on youtube but they were not that realistic. I might look into it.

nice thingy. :-)
Reminds me of the NXT one-foot creeper (the Slug) I did some time ago.
