Which set did you motorize?

Even though most of the new Technic sets use the studless building style, it is sometimes hard to combine them with the NXT. Especially when the model is relatively small and you want to keep the total creation compact. There are many sets that have been motorized, but I didn't see a compact version of an 'nxtisized' Off Road Truck (LEGO #8273) yet. Therefore, I decided to give it a try. At the moment it moves aroud the room very smoothly, using the arrow keys on my keyboard and RobotC. I will implement sensors into this truck later, to allow it to move through the room autonomously.

The four wheels in the back are all driven by two differentials and they can tilt, just like the original version. To place the driving motor, I had to remove the turntable of the the little crane.

Now my question to you is, did you combine any LEGO set with the NXT? Or did you see some nice combinations on the web? Leave a comment here with a link to the robot and I'll start a new thread in the forums if there is enough interest.

Actually, I motorized that set too! I never got around to documenting/posting it though.

i motorized the 8292 very nicely with 1 power functions xl motor and another m motor for steering. i also had to relocate the dumper motor to clear space for the big xl motor

Very cool! I especially like how you got it to be very compact. I actually just bought the Cherry Picker a few days ago. I should try to "NXTisize" that set...

I purchased 8289 Fire Truck last Sunday, built it and now have a more intelligent version next to me with one servo, a Dune Buggy motor, three light sensors (2 NXT 1 RIS), Ultrasonic and RIs touch sensor and the NXT in the cab. Now on to the program...

I installed my NXT and two motors into the set 8146, Nitro Muscle, although this is a Racer set. Nitro Muscle was mostly studless, so it was fairly easy. All I had to do is remove few pieces and add some gears and pins. It runs really well and fast because of the big wheels and nice turning mechanism. I saw other people motorize this set as well.
