LEGO® MINDSTORMS Mac Software Available Online

As some Mac OSX users in the past encountered problems with installing the NXT 2.0 software on Snow Leopard from the CD, LEGO® has made it available for download from the official MINDSTORMS web site now.
Have a look here.

Requires a username and password?

This is a bit confusing, it requires a password, the instructions show a Windows version as well, and the Mac version says it still needs the patch to work on Snow Leopard. So it looks like maybe this is just the NXT 2.0 CD contents (not fixed), and a place for LEGO Tech Support to send people who have lost their CD, and give them a password? Can anybody confirm?

They would have to rewrite the NXT software not to use Rosetta in order for it to work on OS X Lion.

But yeah, I would imagine it's just a straight .iso dump of the 2.0 CD...

Oh, and here is an update from NI about ditching Rosetta (which would have to happen first before NXT could be updated)

Dave,

On inquiry LEGO told me that the call for credentials is a mistake and will be fixed soon: the download is meant to be for free.
Until then, one can call the customer service to receive the direct download link.

You can also just download the Snow Leopard patch and run with the original CD in. But, ta da, I went to get the link for the patch and it appears the full download now works OK. Cool.

I work on Snow Leopard (Glad I didn't upgrade to Lion). I had no problem installing from the CD, and Mindstorm NXT seems to work for a little while, but on reboot, it no longer works. It crashes every time I try it. I installed the Mac Patch, and now when it crashes it tells me "Error: a required file is broken Error code 1003". Any ideas?

Why allmost all the pages on mindstrom.lego.com give an 'not found' message?? Frustrating!
